Principal's Report

by David Lord

Last week I walked around the school visiting many classrooms and lunchtime activities. As I walked around the school I found that:

  • Our students and teachers were helpful and friendly. There was almost universally a warm feeling in classrooms.
  • Almost all students were engaged in the class tasks in their interactive notebooks.
  • Student leaders were eagerly planning their next projects in leading many areas across the school including the production and upcoming assemblies. I am really proud of the genuine leadership our student leaders show.

What I saw reinforced my strong belief that every student at our school is capable of high levels of learning growth and high levels of engagement in the life of the school. It is really important that we all encourage all of our students to actively prepare for success by being at school every day with all the materials they need to learn. It is equally important that we all regularly show we care about what they are doing and that we believe in them. I am very much looking forward to continuing to see high level engagement inside and outside of classrooms this year.
