Support Faculty Snapshot

Stage 4:

Stage 4 students have been enjoying working together in the Support gardens.  They have been busy weeding and tilling the soil in readiness for future agricultural projects.

Stage 4 have also been making milkshakes in Food Technology.

As part of our resources unit for Science Stage 4 have been constructing and testing hydro energy turbines and simulating geothermal turbines.

Stage 5:

Stage 5 students have been completing the work ready program, learning about how to be safe and conduct themselves in a professional manner whilst at work. They will be able to use these skills soon when they participate in work experience.

Stage 5 have been also developing their communication skills and problem solving skills while participating in giant games.

Stage 6:

Stage 6 have completed the Step Job Program with Nova Employment who have been coming to Camden High to teach our students about the world of work. They have been developing job readiness skills and practising interview techniques to get them ready for leaving school and looking for a job.

All of the Support Faculty recently took part in an Interschool Bowling Competition.  We were very successful particularly in the ‘having fun’ part of the event!  No pins were left standing as the students enjoyed bowling many thunder and lightning strikes at sport, vying for the privilege of representing Camden High School at the Sydney South-West Tournament, held on Monday 7th August. We have just found out that we have made it to the state finals at Rooty Hill on Wednesday 1 November 2023!

Students were treated to football, boomerang and art activities as part of NAIDOC Week celebrations, many of our students got involved!

Some our students had fun making Aboriginal art forms, participating in the activities that included: chalk art, message stick painting and colouring.

We also joined in National Pyjama Day, wearing PJ’s  and  donating a gold coin and to raise money for Out of Home Care children.
