Principal's Report - Mr Pitt

Dear Parents/ Carers

THANK YOU

It is great to be back! Thank you for all the kind messages I received during my recent sick leave.  It seems that as the body gets older there’s more that needs fixing! I am feeling refreshed and ready to enjoy the rest of the term. A very big thank you to Mrs Karam and the staff for leading the way in my absence. Fairvale PS is very lucky to be equipped with the best in the business; high performing educators, administrative and learning support staff. 

PARACHUTING AROUND THE SCHOOL WITH MR PITT 

K BARBADOS: This morning I visited KB during their writing lesson. It was great to see everyone so excited about writing. The students in KB were working in smaller groups to write about a shark. They had learnt some interesting facts about sharks and were beginning to write their sentences. I was so impressed with how well they were writing. Take a look at the photos. Great work KB

6 VENEZUELA: I really enjoyed my visit in 6V. During this time the class were analysing Aboriginal images. The students needed to interpret the Aboriginal image into a story using different codes and clues to help them. I was so impressed with the level of dialogue and interaction among the students. They really enjoyed working in small groups and sharing their ideas with their peers. Well done 6V!

2021 ORGANISATION 

We are currently organising class structures for 2021 and two weeks ago a note went home regarding family plans for 2021. If you are returning to Fairvale PS in 2021 you do not need to do anything, however, if you are planning on leaving OR returning a little late then we need you to complete the note. If you would like to speak to someone about this, please contact the office. 

KINDER TRANSITION

Next week we commence our modified Kinder Transition Program for 2020. A huge congratulations to Miss Brady and her team for coming up with creative ideas to ensure we get to meet our Kinder students for 2021 and also ensuring that parents/ carers receive the necessary information. The team has created a unique link for parents to access. To support the link we have created our very own virtual school tour site for everyone to view. The school tour highlights areas of the school – office, playground, library, classrooms as well as messages from myself, Miss Samira and Miss Michelle. All adults on site will be healthy and ready to work and we expect the same for our children and their families.
