Visual Arts
It's been absolutely fabulous to hear the buzz of activity in the Art Room again this week as the children have returned. I knew that I was looking forward to seeing them but the smile under my mask this week has given me sore cheeks!
I just wanted to share with you a few of the outstanding artworks from the end of Term 3 but I am looking forward to filling the school hallways with art made at school over the coming weeks. Foundation - Year 2 students finished the term with some Food Art and Years 3 - 6 recreated some masterpieces of art.
Last week our Year 5 and 6 students attended an online excursion to the Heide Museum of Modern Art as part of their camp activities. It was a fabulous experience and I was very proud of our students and their thoughtful engagement in the excursion. Heide is a beautiful venue set amongst parklands in Bulleen. The students were shown images of the grounds and buildings and some of the many sculptures and artworks there and they participated in insightful conversations about the works of Australian artist, Albert Tucker.
Finally, I have a request. If anyone has been cleaning out at home and have some old, clean towels that they are willing to donate to the art room, I would be very grateful.
If you can help out, please send them to school with your child who can bring them to me.
