Well-being

Miss Roberts

Welcome back to Term 4

It was fantastic to see all students and teachers back at GRPS on Monday! Mrs Rouda and I were thrilled to see so many smiling faces walking through the school gates or jumping out the car in the drop off zone. From the visits I have made to classrooms this week, it is clear that students are enjoying catching up with their friends and learning from their teachers. In every class there has been a real buzz and plenty of respectful, responsible learners.

Flourishing Families Online Series

We are thrilled to offer you an opportunity to participate in 'Flourishing Families', which is a series of 5 parent sessions. Throughout these sessions you will explore the key principles of Positive Education, a pilot initiative adopted by our school and all those in Maroondah. The aim of these sessions is to create an awareness of how Character Strengths, Mindsets, Positive Emotions and Positive Relationships can help us thrive and flourish individually and collectively. Edwina Ricci will lead the series and she is a wonderful and experienced presenter. I highly recommend this series to all parents, so you can build upon and support the work we do around building wellbeing in our students at school.

For more information, please see the flyer included on our Community page at the end of this Newsletter, or access via the Compass News Feed sent earlier this week.

The idea behind the Bucket Filler theory is that each interaction with another person is a chance to build wellbeing. The theory developed by Clifton and Rath is that people have an invisible bucket and that by doing something kind for someone,  you not only fill their bucket but your own too!

It was fantastic to receive so many nominations from parents during Remote Learning. Please remember that you can continue to nominate kind acts by emailing me via Compass.

Congratulations to our Bucket Fillers!
