Kilvington Flag donated by Ann Cleghorn
We have had some fabulous items donated by our alumni this year. Many thanks to the following Kilvonians for taking the time to collect and pass on these interesting pieces of Kilvington history.
We hope you enjoy the following memories.
We absolutely love this piece of information and insight on the current times received from Pat earlier this year.
Thank you so much for the latest news - I’m not surprised Kilvington coping so well – it’s in her genes!
I was looking through some old photos the other day and found one of a group of fathers digging air raid trenches in the empty ground behind the main school building - that would have been 1941 or 1942. We also had an old tram car which we could sit in at lunch time. Also, every girl had to have an emergency bag which contained a plastic plate and mug, a whistle and a largish flat rubber to wear on a cord around our neck and which we could put between our teeth to bite on during an air raid, to stop the risk of lock jaw. Isn’t it funny the little odd memories which sometimes come into your mind.
Many thanks to Anne Cleghorn, past student, staff and Alumni Committee member for the vast array of memorabilia donated this year. What a treat!
Thanks to Ellie for the donation of her School hat from the mid 2000s. It's in pristine condition, which is quite an achievement as the white was very difficult to keep clean.
