Levels 3 & 4

Level 3 Update

This term, the Grade 3 students have enjoyed learning about the effects of heat. We have investigated scientific concepts such as states of matter, methods of heat transfer and effective conductors and insulators. To finish our ‘Hot and Cold’ Inquiry unit with a bang, the students will be conducting their very own science experiments next week. They have organised their ingredients/ equipment and are busy forming their predictions. Next week is sure to throw up some exciting and potentially very messy results!!!

Level 4 Update

On the 18th of November, the Grade 4 students had their first fun day. It included an inflatable bungee, sumo wrestling with suits and they also did games with a partner such as connect four, frisbee, finska and velcro balls.

After recess, the Grade 4s had a competition, The Amazing Race. The sun was scorching hot, there was no doubt that it would be a tiring race. The Race started off with a bang! They competed in groups of four and each group worked together to complete the race. After the race, it was clear the everyone was exhausted, even the teachers, but overall, it was an enjoyable experience.

The next day, the Grade 4 students did some S.A.S challenges! With Miss Little, they would be doing an exciting Boot Camp, with Mr Noordoff, would be using team work and their brains solving Three tricky challenges, Finally with Mr Jenkins they would use teamwork, courage and skill in two teams versing each other!

Then on the 19th of November we had a giant birthday party for all the people who’s birthdays were in isolation then there were 3 big pinatas and the grade 4’s were divided into 3 groups to hit it and get candy, then we were in the same groups when we played pass the parcel and on each layer there was a packet of candy and in the middle there was a big toy, then all the grade 4’s played a huge game of musical chairs and it was so fun and lastly for lunch we had pizza and there were 4 flavors margarita, Hawaiian, vegetarian and meat lovers and we got cake for dessert.

It was an awesome time!
