Prep/1AP

This week in Prep 1 KF, we have been focusing on shapes. We have been investigating the difference between two dimensional shapes and three dimensional objects. We have discovered that two dimensional shapes are flat and have corners and sides and three dimensional objects are solid (we can hold them) and they have corners, edges and faces. We have been shape detectives and have hunted for shapes in our classroom. We have had fun challenging ourselves to build a tower with a cube, sphere, cone, cylinder and rectangular prism and creating and making shapes using matchsticks.

Awet discovered, “Look, the rods in the tent are cylinders”

Mary discovered “Look the witches hat is a cone” Angus discovered “A sphere is the same shape as a basketball!”
