Year 12 Class of 2020

On November 4th we said goodbye to our Year 12 students for 2020. With Covid protocols in place we were unable to do this as a school community but the Year 12’s still gathered as a mentor group for a morning tea and online assembly. During the day the students had their shirts signed and enjoyed an ice cream and coffee/hot chocolate at lunchtime.

Students also received a showbag, an initiative by the Year 12 Student Leadership group. These bags were made up of donations from companies all around town. Thanks to the Arch View Café, Bolton’s, Integra, Australian Catholic University, Rebel, Powercor and Mars Confectionary for their generosity. Also a big thanks to our Year 12 Student Leadership group for organising and making up the bags.

Below is a letter included in the showbags which Mr Palmer wrote to all our Year 12’s:

Your Valedictory is always very exciting in many ways because it does signal the end of school after 13 years but it is also tinged with sadness. Congratulations to our Year 12 class of 2020. Congratulations to all students, whether studying VCAL or VCE. With all that has happened in 2020, we are still here and have achieved the main goal of having you ready for your next chapter in life.

While we have not been able to do all that we would have liked because of all the health restrictions, we still have every confidence in each of you as young adults being ready and able to move to this next chapter. Thank you for all that you have done for our School.

Thank you to your parents/carers, family, and friends for supporting you through what has proved to be one of the greatest challenges we have all experienced.

We are proud of you individually and collectively.

Duty Always.
