Bunnings BBQ and 2023 Ideas

School Fundraising

Bunnings BBQ

Our BBQ raised $875 this year which goes direct to the school and helps us partially fund, amongst other things, our Year 12 School Formal and the School Camp at Stanwell Tops.

This was our first BBQ in 3 years due to the Covid restrictions. It was great to have the sausage sangas back!

Special thanks to the Teachers, Parents and Students who gave up their valuable time back in October to ensure that our

And of course, a great big thank you to the staff at the Kingsgrove Bunnings Store for their kind assistance during the BBQ and their ongoing support over the years.

p.s Did you know that Bunnings Kingsgrove store donated and installed our Frog Pond earlier in the year?

2023 Ideas - Funds for the School

We want to raise as much money as possible again next year and are looking for ideas and suggestions where we can get 'whole of school' participation.

Our Bunnings BBQ will of course be on the list, but given the negative impact of Covid on fund raising activities over the last few years, we are keen to make up for lost time (or lost funds).

We have plenty of ideas on what we can spend money on - we now need some ideas on how to get it!

Let the Office staff know of any ideas you may have. One focused / themed event every term would be ideal!

Charitable Fundraising

Pawgust

The school has been taking part in Guide Dogs NSW 'Pawgust' initiative to raise funds for their puppy raising program. The school's SRC felt it was a good opportunity for the school community to 'give back' to the organisation which provided us with our therapy dog Orrick. 'Pawgust' participation involves committing to walking for 30 mins a day (or roughly 2 kilometres) throughout the entire month of August. Students have been rotating the walking duties and also created a 'photo booth' fund raiser last Friday where people could have the opportunity to pose with Orrick for a small donation!

There is still a week left to go if you would like to contribute.

Movember

Woniora Road School raised over $325- for this worthy cause during November!

Funds were raised using a combination of methods including a very popular 'chocky' bowl, a raffle which included over $100- worth of chocolates as the prize and some direct donations.
