More School Upgrades

New Murals, New Roof and Shade Sail

New Murals - Front Gate and Demountable

For those visiting the School recently, you may have noticed two new murals in the school which help give a welcoming feel. Check them out on your next visit If you haven't seen them yet!

The first one is at the entrance as you walk in. This mural was co-designed and co-painted by the Students under the guidance of Artist David Cragg. David had successfully worked with the Students previously on the Council funded mural on King Georges Road.

The second mural is on the Ngarra demountable wall and is a print that was co-designed with the Students and our Artist Howard Mathews who initially oversaw the Room 13 Engagement Program initiatives. Another great design with a great 'inspiration' quote from American artist Chuck Close. May we suggest you get up 'close' and read the quote.

New Roof and Shade Sail

Following on from our general upgrades over the last few years where we undertook a major playground upgrade, vehicle safety reconfiguration and new themed signage throughout the school, over summer, we will be installing;

  • a new roof over the main school building, and;
  • a new shade sail over the stage area between the two date palms.

Ibis Management

Whilst not so much in the construction theme, we will also be pruning 17 trees throughout the School and from neighboring properties. This will also allow us to better manage our Ibis population which has impacted our use of the playground this last year.
