MESSAGE FROM THE HEALTH CENTRE – MEDICATION POLICY
If your child needs medication whilst at school, please make sure you are aware of our school medication policy to ensure your child’s safety. The policy has been set up to ensure medication is given according to DET requirements.
Responsibilities include:
- Parent or guardian to give medication to office staff or school nurse.
- Medication is not to be left in your child’s school bag.
- A medication request form must be completed and signed by a parent/guardian and accompany medication. These forms are available on Compass in the section of documentation – health centre.
- Please send medication in its original container so script details and expiry dates are evident.
- The school nurse or first aid trained staff member will administer medication according to script details and medication request form.
- Parent/guardian is responsible for collecting medication at the end of the school day.
