In Reading we have been learning how to predict what is going to happen in the book. We’ve been studying a book called Rain Dance about a farm going through drought.  

 

In Writing we have been learning to write a narrative based on a writing stimulus. This week we have been focusing on adding in expressive words to our writing pieces. 

 

In Maths we have been learning about data and analysis. We are doing a teacher group, independent task and Mathletics. 

 

A Discovery lesson that I have enjoyed was Inquiry. We have been making a poster on our feelings and emotions in sport.

In Reading we have been learning about sounds in words such as /oi/ as in coin, /ow/ as in cow and /oo/ as in moon.

 

In Writing we have been writing about Ginger Cat and Squid. We have also been making a book about the Magic Whistle. 

 

In Maths for our warm up we have been doing an addition snap game with cards and take away snap.

A Discovery lesson that I have enjoyed was Inquiry when we did a drawing of ourselves doing a sport. We had to write 5 words of how we felt doing that sport.

In Reading we have been learning about inferring. We have also learnt about evidence and schema.

 

In Writing we have been learning about writing narratives. For our warm up we learnt about synonyms and antonyms.

In Maths we have been learning about mean, median, mode and range. We also learnt about the jump and split strategy. For our warm up we played a math game called hungry puppies and canoe puppies.

 

A Discovery lesson that I have enjoyed was Inquiry. In Inquiry we have been learning about mental health and a mock interview about our chosen organisation.

In Reading we have been learning about inferring. We learnt about evidence which is the clues and schema which is what you know about the evidence. When you put these two things together you get a proper inference.

 

In Writing we have been learning how to write a narrative. The structure of a narrative is: orientation, complication, clause 1, clause 2, clause 3 and the resolution.

 

In Maths we have been learning about mean, median and mode. For our warm up we have been doing an activity on maths playground for addition.

A Discovery lesson that I have enjoyed was Inquiry. In Inquiry we have been learning about mental health and we have chosen a mental health website and are doing a project about it.
