Mr Irwin's Message

Term 1 Week 9

  * Please note the attached video was published on Sunday on our Facebook page.

On Sunday our Premier  announced school holidays will start as of the 24th of March, being this Tuesday.

This has altered from the information on Friday evening but does show the care our Government has for staff and students in our school.

Whilst the date of holidays has been brought forward to Tuesday I’ve not received any further information regarding finishing dates of holidays and will pass this to you ASAP.

As for what awaits us on the other side of holidays, I’m not sure. I know we’ll be planned and ready to go if we’re providing at home learning and we’ll gladly welcome students back into classrooms if we get the opportunity to.

At this stage we’ll keep resources at school. In the event we need to get resources home for students we’ll co-ordinate a pickup day towards the end of holidays.

For now, I’d encourage you to take this time for exactly what it is; school holidays. Take the chance to spend time together as a family to create that calm and relaxed environment your children will be needing right now. Pitch a tent in the backyard, build a cubby, play board games, have a movie day, get kids to Marie Kondo their room! Whatever you decide to do make it fun and relaxing!

One final thing for everything to remember is that we are a great school community. That’s not because of the bricks and mortar we have at school, but because of the way we care for and look after one another.

Make sure over the holidays you check on those around you, and make sure you ask for help if you need it. I don’t want anyone in our community doing it any tougher than they need to over the next few weeks.

Take care and stay well.
