We are Glenview!!

Welcome!
I must say I am very excited about the opportunity to lead you all at Glenview Middle School. The charge that has been granted to me to build upon the great traditions of Mr. Mayfield as the leader of Glenview is especially humbling. I’m grateful for the opportunity and my plan is to enjoy the journey.
I was listening to a speech by a highly successful orator a few days ago. He mentioned that we as individuals tell ourselves that we are going to be happy once we have reached a certain goal. He suggested thinking otherwise. Not only should you be happy once you reach that goal, you should embrace the happiness while working towards the goal. We will establish goals together at Glenview. Not only will we create those goals, we will accomplish each one. While we are reaching each goal, we will enjoy the ride.
One of my strongest beliefs is work should be enjoyable. If I enjoy my job, then I am more productive and the students benefit positively. I want you to enjoy your job, as well. Education is such a powerful occupation and only those who truly believe in educating kids should be involved. We are doing our students a severe injustice if we are only here for the long summers and weekends off. Now this doesn’t mean that every request you receive will warrant a yes, but it means that we will make informed decisions that will benefit our students and our school.
Many of you have reached out to Mr. Tony, our head custodian, in regards to when you will be able to get into your classroom. As of right now, it is looking like the end of July or the very beginning of August. In the meantime, enjoy your summer. It is vital that you are well rested when you officially return August 12th, so enjoy your summer.
Before you know it, we will be back in the swing of things and impacting our students’ lives. We are at a great point at Glenview. However, you are the key component of our success. I am grateful to have you on board and I look forward to making this school year essential, enthusiastic, and effective.
With Warmest Regards,
Leonard C. Galloway
