Our Response

"So do not worry, saying, "What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we wear?'  Your Heavenly Father knows what you need."  Matthew 6:31-32

Our family recently hiked Mt Pleasant Summit.  A breathtakingly panorama of forestry with natural natives darting out forming the under forest.

I tend to get left behind a little bit on these walks as I take my time to pick things up, examine textures and colours found within nature and stop to take in the full sensory smorgasbord that is available.

On this particular day, I came across my husband and son standing on a boulder with their arms open wide.  Coming upon this, it appeared to be a little 'weird' so I approached them and asked them what they were doing?  The answer was simple, "We are just taking it all in."  The 'all', I had assumed was the response to the beauty that surrounded them and the lack of worry they were carrying in that moment of time.

It feels like at the moment, there is a lot of 'all' that has the potential to consume us with worry.  As media platforms fill with worldly concerns, pressures and atrocities, it can become extremely overwhelming.

The Bible calls us to pray about these things, rather than sit within the worry with the understanding that God our provider does supply all our needs according to His purposes.  Jireh, is a name for God that means 'Provider'.  I pray that this week, you may find time to embrace the 'all' and seek God the Provider for all your needs.  I share this song with you and pray that it gives you hope.

In response to the Afghanistan refugees arriving in Adelaide this week, we have seen the organisation we support send backpacks for children in quarantine.
