Year 4 Camp Wyuna

Year 4 Camp : Camp Wyuna, Queenscliff

Truly, I believe all students were very grateful for the opportunity to attend their Year 4 overnight camp last week. Our Year 4’s were able to share in the excitement of the outdoors which was seen in their smiles during each activity.

Our journey began from St Simon’s with a short leg stretch at a park in Geelong. On arrival, the year 4 students were given a tour of the camp site and had the chance to settle into their cabins. While on the camp, students took part in adventurous, amazing activities. These included archery, team initiative games and the photo trail around the campsite. It was great to see so many students eager to partake in the activities provided by the camp staff and run by teachers.

One of the marvellous attractions of the camp was the beautiful beach which was just on the doorstep of the campsite. It was in this setting that students took part in sand castle building and beach games. When students were given free time, there was plenty of excitement around the gaga ball pit .

Our meals were nutritious and hearty and I was proud of the wonderful manner used while eating in the dining hall. To finish the first day, the year 4’s spent some time around a toasty campfire and were given a small treat with roasting marshmallows. A major highlight on our last day was the wild sling activity with students slinging and trying to catch water balloons.

Overall, our camp was a great success with students coming home overjoyed and thrilled to be on such a fun filled camp. A special thanks to our Year 4 teachers, Mrs Edgar, Miss Feleppa, Mr Johnston and Miss Iannelli and supporting teachers who were upbeat, enthusiastic and made sure each student was supported throughout the entire camp journey. I hope the memories of this experience will be treasured by your child. Next week, there will be a few student reflections posted about our year 4 camp experience.
