Eclipse House News

After returning from Paternity Leave at the start of this term, I received a warm welcome from the Eclipse boys. They were interested in how Henri was going and what it was like now having two children.

Last week I picked up a new coffee machine for the house. The boys have enjoyed using it and trialling various pods. You are more than welcome to come into the house and enjoy a coffee with your son and the supervisor on shift next time you are in town.

Olympics

The television in the dining area of the house displayed the Olympics at every chance the boys could get. The hockey, sprints, high jump, diving and volleyball were all favourites in the house. This meant that the kitchen/dining area had become a popular gathering place for the boys in the afternoons and evenings, creating a great social environment where conversations and laughs were shared and enjoyed.

Work Experience

The Year Ten group have had work experience this past week, this resulted in the house being very quiet with half of the boys away from the house. Those that remained really enjoyed their time at work, the evenings were filled with boys excitedly sharing and comparing stories of their day. By the end of the week they were all utterly exhausted but still enjoying the experience.

Family

Unbelievably Henri is now nine weeks old. He is growing so well and is a very happy baby. We have a follow up appointment in Perth with him in a few weeks but he is doing well.

Hazel had a uniform fitting this week and very excitedly started Pre-Kindy on Friday 6 August. She has also starting to come out of her shell, talking to and laughing with the Eclipse boys more than she has previously.

Greta, Hazel, Henri and Lola have all enjoyed coming into the house and visiting the boys over the past few weeks. The boys have enjoyed playing with Lola, seeing Henri and talking with Greta and Hazel.

Birthdays

On Tuesday 3 August both Levi and I celebrated our birthdays. The boys all wished us both a happy birthday and Mrs Peta Spinks kindly organised a cake for the house to celebrate. Thank you, Peta. The boys enjoyed coming together and eating cake together. Quinten Robinson also turned 18 years old, we wish him a very happy birthday.

The past three weeks have been an enjoyable start to the term and we have been planning various activities for the remainder of term as we quickly approach the Year Twelve boys final weeks.
