Endeavour House News

It’s wet, wet, wet and we are all ready for a little sunshine. I’m pretty sure you are all the same at home. We are all ready for a change in the weather and to keep a pair of shoes dry for a day.  The Endeavour girls are hatching chicken eggs to give us something to look forward to. They are due to hatch on Census day! Thanks to the Norrish family for supplying us with fertile eggs. Look forward to cute chicken photos in the near future.

Olympic fever hit Endeavour and we watched every moment of the games that we could. It was nice to see your girls spending time together barracking for Australia. We are not sure what we will do now that the Games are over, as this became an important part of Endeavour spending time together.

It was a very quiet weekend in Endeavour, due mostly to the netball carnival. Most of our girls took the opportunity, with no netball fixtures, to go on leave for the weekend. The few girls that were in for the weekend enjoyed painting and cooking with individual attention from supervisors.

Our Endeavour prep roster has changed slightly this term and the Year Eight girls now doing prep at the table with me on a Tuesday night. This is the night the Year Seven cohort are in Michaelmas with Ms Simpson. Year Nine girls and boys continue to do prep in Michaelmas on a Monday and Thursday night with Miss Nixon and Miss Church.

Mr Peter Colgate is once again teaching our Endeavour girls woodwork in his own time. This term it is the Year Eight girls turn to make an item on a Wednesday at 4.30pm. The end products from the woodwork session have been great. It might be time to let the Anchorage boys have a turn next.

Happy birthday to Sophie Harris who celebrated her birthday at home at the end of July and Sienna Ball on Friday 6 August. Tiffany Butterworth had her birthday on Sunday 8 August, Matilda Norrish shared her birthday with Mrs Freeman today, 9 August. We also have many more birthdays coming up in August, it is going to be a big month of ice cream cakes in Endeavour.

Keep warm and dry.
