Anchorage House News

The Anchorage boys have been enjoying the additional warmth in the house and the newly painted Year Nine wing this term. The smell of fresh paint is disappearing, but the sparkling walls are still being enjoyed. We are asking that boys only display photos on their cupboard doors, and to keep the walls free from sticky materials. This is just the beginning of the updating in Anchorage and we are excited for each change.

The Anchorage boys are continuing to enjoy gym sessions in the evenings after completing their prep. These sessions are conducted by Mr Nelson Stanborough, Mr Zak Mola, Mr Paul Osborne or Mr Mark Jordan.  It has been a great energy outlet, having the boys play games, using the great indoor facilities the school has to offer.

Mr Mark Jordan joins Anchorage this term as a new supervisor. He has previously worked in sport and recreation roles with a range of ages and abilities. Mark will be starting some basketball skills sessions on Friday evenings. He is really keen to spend time supporting the boys in their many sporting and learning pursuits.

The Kingfisher Fair on Sunday 12 September is quickly approaching. This year, Anchorage are collecting and selling bags of sheep, chook, cow or horse manure. We will store the bags of manure outside the Recreation shed before the Fair. You can bring in the bags of manure any time from now. The more the merrier!

Best wishes go to Daniel Barrett-Lennard and Alby Kowald who both had birthdays in the school holidays and to Patrick Buckenara who turned 13 at the end of the first week of Term Three.
