Around The Primary

Dear Parents,

Welcome back to a new term! I hope that you were all able to enjoy some special time with your children over the holidays.

It has been wonderful catching up with children after their holiday break and despite the drizzly conditions, they all appear to be very excited and happy to be back at school, ready for another ten weeks of learning and fun!

Many thanks for making time to come along to the Parent/Teacher interviews – it is very much appreciated. Thank you for supporting your child’s learning in this way and for supporting teachers to keep communication of student progress between home and school effective and helpful. I would also like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank all our teachers for their hard work in preparing for the interviews and for their warmth and professionalism across a very busy day! As always, we will be monitoring the students’ academic development and their social and emotional progress throughout the semester.

Term Three is busy term – a time for our students to showcase their wonderful talents in various Learning Areas. We are very much looking forward to the Year 4 Musical, Cross Country Carnival, Athletics Carnival, John XXIII Day, Dance Showcases, Book Week, Father’s Day Mass.  Parents are requested to please check the Primary Calendar for regular updates -http://www.johnxxiii.edu.au/view/for-parents/calendars

We warmly welcome Miss Brianna Di Stefano to our school community. Miss Di Stefano is very excited to be teaching Year 3G.

All the very best everyone and looking forward to a great term ahead!

Kind regards,

Congratulations to the Year 6 GATE Team “JTC Super Snoopers’ for coming runners up in the

The Law Society of Western Australia’s ‘Cluedunnit Kids’ Competition for 2021.

As part of the Term Two GATE program the ‘JTC Super Snoopers’ and the ‘JTC Crime Squad’ participated in the ‘Cluedunnit Kids’ Competition involving solving a fictional crime. As runners up in the competition, the JTC Super Snoopers were invited to the Perth Children’s Court for the Award Ceremony.

Along with other award winning schools in one of the courtrooms, we were introduced to many fantastic role models in our legal system, Judge Quail, Professor Cunningham, Dean of Curtain University Law School, Claire Rossi Legal Aid, Sergeant Corker, Dr Lu Lawyer, Partner HBA, Ms Boujos President of the Law Society of WA and Mr Curtis, Manager Education and Community Services.

After we were presented with our awards, we had afternoon tea spoke to the other award winners and the some of the role models about their work. Our team really enjoyed speaking to Sergeant Corker about some of his experiences as a police officer. His responses were captivating and impressive.

We all really enjoyed taking part in this challenging and fun competition.
