Performing Arts

We picked up where we left off with our rehearsals for Shrek the Musical Jr. and I couldn’t be prouder of all the students who remembered all the singing and dancing from last term. With now finalising the first class songs we are now moving on to learning the 2nd class songs. The students are showing great skill in transforming characters.

Throwing another snap lockdown into this term won’t stop the students singing and dancing! I can’t wait to see the characters and masks they create on Friday. I hope you all enjoy the dancing warm up activities this week :)

Choir will resume next week on Wednesday the 28th of July at our new time of 2:05pm where we will continue practicing True Colours and maybe begin a new song. Hopefully in the near future the choir will be able to perform at an assembly, they’ve been working really hard and I’m sure would love to show what they’ve learnt.

Shrek the Musical Jr. rehearsals will resume on Thursday the 29th of July. Last week those students who attended the various sessions worked extremely hard. Some groups learnt the choreography to a whole song and our Shrek, Fiona and Donkey blocked over 15 pages of dialogue. Well done to all and I can’t wait to work with some other lead characters next week.

Thank you to those parents/guardians who have responded to the Operoo sent out re helping with the production. Due to lockdown, the parent helper meeting has been postponed to Thursday the 29th of July at 1:30pm (restrictions permitting). Keep an eye out for any further information.

Warmest regards,
