Indonesian

Year 7 & 8 Indonesian students have been learning about how Indonesia achieved independence also how Indonesians celebrate their Independence Day, and compared it to how we celebrate Australia Day. Students also designed amazing posters and participated in the state Independence Day poster competition.

Senior Indonesian students recently participated in the virtual University Open day for Indonesian students. The online video session allowed students to get first-hand insight into various university studies and career paths with Indonesian. Students found out more about the Indonesian programs at the various universities in Victoria and listened to current university students talking about their experiences on educational and career opportunities with Indonesian language. - Bu Devathas

Science

The fun does not stop during lockdown 5 & 6 in Science at Heathmont College! In the week of the 19th July, 7E and 8E took part of Science Virtual Incursion delivered by The University of Melbourne. During this inclusion, students were able to see various experiments presented by passionate university students in areas of Science and Maths. We were very lucky to have one of our ex students, Riley Morris, presenting his Engineering project to our students.

The Year 11 Biology have been exploring DNA in their classes in between lockdowns. We hope to see our classes back on site soon to continue exploring the wonderful world of Science. - Marquita Corr, Head of Science
