When students have supportive relationships and opportunities to develop and practice social, emotional, and cognitive skills across many different contexts, academic learning accelerates.
As we experience lockdown once again, most students are spending more time that usual with family. That extra time with parents and caregivers offers more opportunities to model and practice SEL together. Should you be interested, this article outlines 10 ways that parents can bring Social-Emotional learning home. Key to this endeavour as a parent is looking after your own wellbeing and modelling this for your children.
