Integrated Curriculum - Term 3

Dear Families,

This term our learning focus from Prep - Year 6 is concentrated on the Health and Physical Education curriculum.  This learning focuses on students enhancing their own and others’ health, safety, wellbeing and physical activity participation in varied and changing contexts; this curriculum will be explored through the concepts of choice and lifestyle. Teachers have designed learning experiences which will assist students to develop the knowledge, skills and understanding essential for how to live a healthy and active life.

Across the term, students will be taught ways to strengthen their sense of self, and to build and manage satisfying relationships. Students will also be taught the skill of resilience, and how to make decisions and take actions to promote their health, safety and physical activity participation.

For students in Years 3 - 6, this term's learning will also integrate the Civics and Citizenship curriculum which looks to enable students to become active and informed citizens who participate in and sustain Australia’s democracy.

Research tells us that parental involvement is predictive of student success but you do not need to invest a significant amount of time or attain specific knowledge to support your child’s learning. Rather, improved educational outcomes can result from a genuine interest and active engagement from parents about their child's learning.  We encourage you to continue to engage in conversations with your child about their learning whenever possible.

If you have any questions about your child's learning or would like to offer your expertise to support the learning focus for this term, please contact your child's teacher.

best wishes,
