Junior Class - Mrs Creek

Welcome back to Term 3 everyone.

It was our turn for Assembly this week and we showcased a medley of rhymes and fairy tale stories that we read and wrote about last term.

Our class is also bringing back ‘Show and Tell’.  The roster is:

  • Monday - Claire, Max
  • Tuesday - Tessa, Elvi)
  • Wednesday - Doh Wah, David
  • Thursday - Gu Thay Paw, Nile
  • Friday - Amity, Moe Tha Zin, Isabella

Students are encouraged to bring something to show or to talk about their life and interests.

Middle Class - Miss Williams

It was good to have everyone back this week for Term 3.  We have hit the ground running in the middle class.  We are reading an imaginative recount during reading.  It is about the first child to land on the moon in 2057 and their experiences that they had in going there.  In writing we are also writing recounts about our holidays, there are some great retells of all the adventures and excitement that took place in the two weeks away from school.  In Maths we are revising place value with 3- and 4-digits.

Senior Class - Ms Murphy

It is wonderful to be back at St. Patrick’s Nhill and I thank everyone for the warm re-welcome that Lexi and I have received.

This week our classroom has been focusing on rebuilding relationships and establishing expectations and rules for behavior and classroom processes.  It has been pleasing to see the students making solid decisions about how our classroom will work best for the remainder of this year and beyond and taking agency over this who process.  Now let our actions speak louder than our words!

This term, Years 3 to 6 students will explore the concept of ‘Identity’ in Religious Education.  We began this week by thinking about what it is that ‘identity’ really means?  Beyond this we have started working on our identity profiles and hope to have these ready for display when you visit us for Parent Teacher Interviews!  It would be wonderful to get some baby photos, I am more than happy to photocopy these and return them the same day if you are able to send one or two per child in a sealed and labeled envelope.

Our focus in Integrated Studies for Term 3 will be ‘Forces and Functions’; this unit of study will see the students learning hands on through discovery.  We will cover three main topics in our unit, concepts of physics, engineering and coding.  So far the students seem quite enthusiastic about this topic and it will certainly provide invaluable skills for their future.

I hope you enjoy seeing how our new classroom looks and we cannot wait to have parents visiting us again soon.  Stay tuned for the launch of our  Senior Class Dojo platform, where your child will regularly upload their work to share with you at home and classroom news and announcements will be provided regularly!

I look forward to meeting with as many of you as possible at our upcoming Parent Teacher Interview evening on Monday 26th July.  Book a time with me via PAM, if this day is not suitable for your family please contact the school to arrange a time and day that is suitable.
