FARM

If the first two weeks are anything to go by we are in for a very busy Term 3 on Farm. Numerous activities are occurring, so it’s important that both students and parents watch for opportunities that would suit them. 

As a summary, the activities we have occurring this term  (or are endeavouring to confirm);

• Two trips to Three Ryans Farm in Manjimup for Certificate III in Agriculture students.
• 4WD Driving courses for Year 12 students.
• Chainsaw course for Year 12 students.
• Dowerin Field Day  with overnight stop at Muresk for Year 11’s.
• RuralBiz,  Diploma of Agriculture Muresk talking with Farm Focus students.
• CBH talking with students about seasonal work for Year 11 and 12 students.
• Year 10 and new Year 11 Provide First Aid course continually running.
• Chemical course for all Certificate III in Agriculture students.
• Rylington Park Shearer Training – This is not a school activity so any engagement with Rylington Park should be done by parents. However, if the course falls within the school term, students would need to apply to the College for this leave to be approved.
• Farm Skills, prior to the Perth Royal Show for Year 11 and 12 Farm Focus students.
• World Skills will be occurring in August for Geoff Tozer and Toby Emmett.
• Horticulture presentation from Patane’s Produce regarding their Traineeship Program in 2022.
• Weekend Stock has just started with the Year 10 students, so please look at the roster to meet your obligations.
• Year 12 students are busy completing course work.
• Work Experience has been very popular for Year 12 students who are on top of their work and qualify to be considered.  This will assist them with the transition to the workforce.
• Excursion to Fruitico with Year 11 Horticulture students.

And…….the usual farm activities are always happening at each farming enterprise.
