Muresk/Dowerin Year 11 Excursion 24 – 25 August

This event is over two days in late August.  Our Year 11 students will have the wonderful experience of extending their knowledge and skills through a variety of activities which will include attending the Dowerin Machinery Field Day and the Muresk Institute.  The students will stay overnight on campus at Muresk and undertaking an orientation exercise.

College Ball/Attendance

This wonderful event is coming up on the 20th August. Students who take the day off prior without an acceptable reason will have an unapproved leave recorded.

Whilst at the Ball students will be in the care of the school from 6pm to 10.30 pm. Any students who attends the Ball under the influence of any substance will have their parents contacted and asked to leave. The College takes no responsibility for the after Ball party or activities.

Reminder re MOBILE PHONE POLICY

The Department of Education does not permit student use of mobile phones in public schools unless for medical or teacher directed educational purposes. Students are permitted to be in possession of their mobile phone during the school day, however, mobile phones must be turned off and away. Students are to put their smart watches in ‘aeroplane mode’ so phone calls and messages cannot be sent or received during the school day. Students can store their mobile phones in their lockers or dormitories.

Mobile phones are a useful tool for students to keep in contact with family and in the event of emergency.  The College recognises the need for students to possess and use mobile phones for both personal and educative purposes.

Winter for coughs and colds

If you have a cold, you should follow these tips to help prevent spreading it to other people:

  • Stay at home while you are sick and keep children out of school while they are sick.
  • Avoid close contact with others, such as hugging, kissing, or shaking hands.
  • Move away from people before coughing or sneezing.
  • Cough and sneeze into a tissue then throw it away, or cough and sneeze into your upper shirt sleeve, completely covering your mouth and nose.
  • Wash your hands after coughing, sneezing, or blowing your nose.
  • Disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects, and doorknobs.
