Flurona -Term Two/Three Absences

On Tuesday, College parents received information in relation to the College’s Flurona strategy.  It relates to large staff and student absences due to COVID or the flu. How does this impact the Junior School? If we are unable to source causal relief teachers or internally cover Junior School classes, an option that we might need to employ is Remote Learning for heavily impacted year levels. This would see students provided with work to continue with at home. We are alert and agile to changes in our learning community and will keep parents informed of developments.

Reminder - Long Weekend

A reminder that next Friday 10 June is a whole school report writing day. There will be no classes at the Junior or Senior School. The Early Learning Centre will operate on this day, for the Piccino group.  Monday 13 Juneis the Queen’s Birthday long weekend. There will be no classes at Junior School, Senior School or the Early Learning Centre.

Prep to Year Three Excursion

Tomorrow, our Prep, Year One, Year Two and Year Three classes head to Flagstaff Hill in Warrnambool for their first excursion in 2022. In their Reggio Inspired Shared Inquiry sessions, the classes have looked into a history provocation that connects to the College’s Sesquicentennial year. We wish them well and hope they stay warm and dry.

2022 Push-Up Challenge

For the next 24 days, Junior School students and staff will be attempting to complete 3139 push-ups. Each day has a prescribed number to complete. This ranges from 74 to 223. There are three rest days included in the 24 days. The Push-Up Challenge is focused on the positive effect exercise can have on mental health across our communities. Junior School parents are welcome to join our team. Just email Mrs. Povey your interest and we will send you a link to join the 2022 Junior School team. You can opt to complete a fraction of the totals or the whole 3139. A free App can be downloaded, and your totals easily entered into the system.
