Dear Families,

I am writing to seek you support in response to some key messages delivered in recent assemblies.

We acknowledge the difficulties faced by students and their families from two years of remote learning. Two years of disconnect and the subsequent issues of returning to an environment where positive connections and relationships with both staff and students are key to the successful functioning of our College. The following of our rules and regulations support a cohesive and productive community.

Most students have settled into the routine of the 2022 school year with ease, we have; however, had a small number of students being disrespectful to staff, to each other and to our property. Sadly, this behaviour impacts us all and reflects poorly on our student body.

The following messages were delivered:

  • Students are required to wear a blazer both to and from school each day in Term 2 and 3.
  • Shirts must be tucked in, and top buttons done up with a correctly worn tie.
  • Girls are permitted one pair of earrings in the lobe of their ear and hair below the shoulders must be tied back. Rings, bracelets, and necklaces are not to be worn as part of the uniform. Nail polish is not permitted.
  • Chewing gum is not permitted.
  • Beanies, hoodies, non-school track suit pants are not acceptable with our school uniform.
  • Phones are not allowed in the classroom or the yard except under an explicit request from the class teacher. If parents need to contact students through the school day, then this should be done through Reception 5572 1355).
  • Interactions with staff must be respectful and appropriate.
  • Reinforcing the importance of kindness in all interactions.

We are so proud of how most students are approaching their learning, for their care for each other and for their respect of their uniform and property. We will therefore continue to work hard to support every student to be their best and to experience success in all that they do. Please speak with your child/ren about these key issues. If Covid taught us anything, it is the power of parents, teachers and students all working in partnership.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
