From the Principal

National Reconciliation Week celebrates our Indigenous history and culture in Australia and I was very proud to see Australia’s three national flags fly proudly alongside the Myrniong homestead. National Reconciliation Week first started in 1993 as a time of prayer and in the spirit of this important week’s origins I share a lovely prayer by Brook Prentis.

May our footsteps, on these ancient lands,

remind us of creation and connectedness, in our search for truth.

May the Gum Tree, from its roots to its branches,

remind us to dig deep and reach high, in our action for justice.

May the Eagle, who soars in the sky,

remind us of the power, in our call for love.

May the expanse of the lands and seas, of the sky and stars,

remind us of God’s timing in our faith in hope.

May the Holy three, Creator Spirit, Lord God, Papa Jesus,

remind us of community.

So with grace, mercy, and peace, go in truth, justice, love and hope.

I wish all the boys and girls curious minds and courageous hearts as they prepare for their exams next week.  I remind everyone that the only time ‘success’ comes before ‘work’ is in the dictionary!

Can I please remind all families that it is vital that our community continues to monitor for symptoms  and remain at home if you or your child is unwell. Please note, all Senior School students will be directed to wear masks in classrooms and public spaces next week. Management made this decision to ensure all families can have the best possible opportunity to enjoy a long weekend after a rising trend in illness.

Finally please note, the 2021 Annual Report is now available to read on the College website.
