Bellarine Division Athletics Event

On Thursday 5 May a team of eighty NGSC students travelled to Landy Field to compete against other government secondary schools. The conditions were fairly cold, but fortunately remained dry for the full event. The team helped out filling in gaps in the events and encouraging each other to perform well. The Senior Boys were fantastic role models and motivators for the team with their high standard of performances. Our school sports Captain Patrick Sager was a stand-out on the day qualifying in all five of his events plus the relay. The Senior Boys were rewarded with the overall Senior Boys Aggregate.

We came second overall which was a great result considering the number of absences on the day.

The following students have now qualified for the Western Metro Region Athletics Championships at Keilor Park on Thursday 15 September.

Western Region Finals

On Monday 9 May I took the Senior Boys Volleyball team to the Western Region finals after they won at the Geelong district tournament. The boys played really hard and showed great respect to their opponents and the competition organisers, unfortunately we only won 1 of our pool games and did not advance to the finals. I have coached this same team of boys for the past 4 years and they have been an absolute joy to lead and learn from!
