Learning Task 1

High Tech Hospital Days

Yarra Ranges Tech School

Over 2 days, Year 8 Science students are challenged to think about the hospital of the future and how technology can improve efficiency in hospital’s operations and boost patient morale.

Students will learn about the systems behind such technologies and how they operate using programming techniques.

Teams of students are introduced to robotics, coding and electronics and then apply their learned knowledge to develop their innovative solutions to hospital related scenarios using the design thinking process.

So far, 6 Home Groups  have attended the 2 day workshop that uses the technology available at the Yarra Ranges Tech School.

The rest of the Year 8 Home Groups will be attending the workshops in the coming weeks.

Here are some of the Year 8s on their YRTS Hospital Tech excursion – having fun with robotics and electronics!
