SCHOOL PRODUCTION

Money Money Money – must be funny, in a rich man’s world!

The notes were flying in the air as students finished their performance of Money Money Money from this year’s production on stage at the school Open Night. A crowd pleasing applause followed our 58 cast and 6 off-stage students who presented the cameo number on stage for prospective parents with great gusto and pizazz! Congratulations to all students on a great first performance.

Special mentions to our Production Captain Darcey Garth (Year 12) who stepped into the role of Donna and Dance Captain, Taylah-Mae Gundry (Year9) who stepped into the role of Tanya on the night with 48 hours to learn their parts in COVID absences. Both girls were fantastic and the whole company of the production were extremely humbled by their talent and resilience to swing into action in these roles.

Rehearsals

Students have been Dancing Queens, singing Gimme Gimme Gimme and swimming around the Greek Islands to 'Lay All Your Love'.

Chocolate fundraising boxes have most recently been dispersed into the community to raise funds towards our production props, sets and costumes.   We look forward to all helping us raise the funds whilst enjoying freddos, koalas and all things chocolate goodness.

A reminder that all students are to check the rehearsal schedule carefully (on Compass, Google Classroom and the Production website) and ensure prompt arrival at rehearsals to be given their best spacing on stage in numbers.  For any questions, cast can refer to the production display folder for their processes on who to contact regarding any upcoming rehearsals, costumes and practice.

All students must practice their singing, dancing and acting at home after rehearsal, to consolidate their parts learnt during the afternoon sessions. All material for students (part-tracks, videos of choreography and direction) can be found on the production website.

Monday Catch-Up Rehearsal

On Mondays we run lunchtime catch-up rehearsal with production team member, Emily Artis alongside the Production Captain and Captain Team.  If a student misses a rehearsal, it is an expectation that they attend this session.

Production Captain Team

Every year we announce leadership roles for production students to demonstrate leadership, resilience, engagement and upskill from the production team on their theatre and music skills. This year we were blown away by the fantastic applications from all students who were keen to be involved in the student production team.

Thank you to those who applied and congratulations to our successful students below:

  • Production Captain 2022 – Darcey Garth (Year 12)
  • Dance Captains – Caitlin Atwill (Year 11) and Taylah-Mae Gundry (Year 9)
  • Direction Captains – Sienna Benson (Year 10) and Liv Bradshaw (Year 10)
  • Music Captain – Kenzie Reid (Year 9)

We look forward to your leadership and performance work with students ahead.
