Livcare Report Term 2, 2022

Tina, Shannyn, Kath, Amy, Anne and Julie.

Hello Livcare Families,

Our extended care program at Livingston Kinder offers a valuable support service to our local community by providing longer hours in a kindergarten setting. This allows for consistent and continued learning with familiar educators whilst our parents have the flexibility to attend to other commitments.

The multiage Livcare sessions provide the opportunity for the children to access peer support, more varied learning including peer-led learning and a wider and more diverse friendship group. The peer group in Livcare are able to display leadership skills, negotiating skills whilst having the ability to work with others. There is learning even when transitioning from one room to another as their peers welcome them into the new environment. As the children have snack together, they are learning new conversational skills.

Points of Learning:

- transitioning from one room to another.

- discovering environment changes to access personal belongings

- display leadership skills

- using rich vocabulary- building resilience.

- to have the ability to work with peers.

We look forward to the rest of Term 2.

Regards,

Tina, Shannyn, Kath, Amy, Anne and Julie
