AGM Board Nominations (School Council)
AGM OF PARENTS & FRIENDS ASSOCIATION
The Annual General Meeting of the Belgrave Heights Christian School Parents & Friends Association will be held in the Restaurant at BHCS on Tuesday, August 9 at 3.45pm.
Belgrave Heights Christian School is operated by an Incorporated Association consisting of eleven members (the School Council) who are appointed by the Presbyterian Church of Victoria. The School Council has the overall responsibility of governing, overseeing the affairs of, and making strategic decisions in relation to the School. The Parents & Friends Association is an auxiliary of the School Council and its members are able to nominate four parents, who are committed Christians, to be considered for appointment to the Council.
The purpose of this meeting of the Parents and Friends Association is to elect four parents to be nominated for Council positions.
Currently the nominations are as follows:
Amanda Wight
Amanda considers herself to have had a privileged education and attended a private girls school, completing a double degree in Commerce /Arts at Deakin University. However, it was her days at a little Christian school in Adelaide that she is most thankful for. She believes that they gave her a beautiful and nurturing introduction to education.
Amanda and her husband Tim have made the education of their four children in a Christian school(BHCS) a priority. They love that God is the centre of our school and that staff frequently go above and beyond and that BHCS not only promotes positivity, but also actively seeks to grow Christian schooling. Amanda considers it both a blessing and a privilege to watch the children grow and flourish at Belgrave Heights as well as serving as a member of the BHCS council and as a member of Pulse.
Amanda and her family attend Resound Church in Scoresby.
Yolanda Cox
Yolanda is married to Ben and together they have three gorgeous daughters. Savanna, Scarlett and Dakota. Yolanda is a Registered Nurse with post-graduate qualifications in Intensive Care Nursing and a Masters in Clinical Education. Yolanda currently works as the ECMO Clinical Nurse Consultant at Monash Medical Centre.
Yolanda and her family have been an active part of Hope in the Hills Christian Community in Tecoma for the last 15 years. In the past, Yolanda served a 3-year term on the Leadership Council of her church as a Congregation Representative.
Yolanda has served on the BHCS School Board for the past 6 years and has enjoyed learning more about the inner workings of our school. She enjoys the challenges that leadership roles bring and she enjoys the opportunity to meet new people and contribute to the overall workings of an organisation.
Stephen Smith
My name is Stephen Smith and I live with my family in Ferntree Gully. My wife Freya and I have two kids Charlie and Audrey who both attend BHCS.
Our family regularly attend Hills Church Ferntree Gully where we are members and have been attending for over a decade. Our church background is a mix of Presbyterian and Independent Baptists, my father being a pastor for part of my childhood rendering me PK status with all that comes with that.
My career has spanned across retail and supply chain at various levels, most recently as a General Manager at Kitchen Warehouse. I'd call myself a passionate retailer and I completed an MBA in 2016 which I try to put to good use each day in my professional life. I enjoy volunteering and am currently the President for the Victorian Churches Basketball Association in Ringwood and also serve as Chair for an not-for-profit named Rite Mentoring who do great work supporting the healthy transition of boys into manhood through mentoring and camp programs.
As a family, apart from the aforementioned basketball, we enjoy walking our dog, entertaining with family and friends, and watching TV. I very much enjoy cooking and Freya very much enjoys letting me cook!
After a brief tour of the school back in 2013, we searched no further and made an enrolment application. Needless to say, we all four, are strong advocates for BHCS and keen to serve and invest in the school where we can. Freya has volunteered in various capacities over the years.
As a nominee I welcome the opportunity to serve on the BHCS School Board and would seek to bring a humility, love for the school and my experience around leadership, strategy, and good governance.
Caroline Chudasko
My name is Caroline Chudasko. I’m married to Adrian and have two children who attend Belgrave Heights Christian School.
For the last four and a half years I have worked as the Office Manager at Belgrave Heights Christian School where I thoroughly enjoyed serving our school community and building so many positive relationships. Recently I have transitioned back to private industry in a People and Culture (Human Resources) role, which is my career background.
We chose Belgrave Heights Christian School for our children as we love and fully support the ethos and Christian values of the school. Additionally we value the dedication and Christian influence that staff provide to students, giving them the opportunity to learn about and enhance their relationship with God.
I am seeking nomination to join the School Council so I can actively and positively contribute to the schools ongoing development and growth. I believe my relationship building and business skills attained in my Office and Human Resource Management roles, together with my faith can be applied to this opportunity as we strive to ensure Belgrave Heights Christian school maintains and excels in providing the highest standard of Christian education.
Sandra Aggromito
Sandra is married to Michael and they have two children. Madison is in Year 5 and Christopher is in Year 4 this year. The Aggromito’s have been at the school since 2015 when Madison started 3 year old kinder.
Sandra and her family are an active part of Hills Church where she is on staff as Ministry Support and Finance. Sandra also leads the Worship team and is on the Church Board.
Sandra has a heart for families and looks forward to getting to know more families within the school community.
