Mega Hub Dance Rehearsal

On Friday 5 August, 17 Essex Heights students went to a Mega Hub Rehearsal with over 20 schools! We started the day with a Teacher Flash Mob which the students absolutely LOVED and clapped and smiled along. We ended the day tired on our feet from non-stop dancing and costume changes. It was very exciting to get all our costumes. There are quite a lot of colourful sequinned jackets which will add to the performance, and we had fun turning them inside out as they are reversible. Lots of practise to happen at school for these jackets! Overall, it was an absolute joy of a day. The EHPS students are ready for the John Cain Arena. Have you got your tickets?

Mass Choir Rehearsal

Fifteen students from the Chorale choir travelled by train on Wednesday morning, 17 August, to rehearse with other students as part of the Mass Choir for the Victorian State Schools Spectacular. The students represented Essex Heights Primary School confidently and enjoyed hearing the soloists and some members of the band perform. They were introduced to a range of choreographed songs which they will practice at the next rehearsal on 8 September. Here is an account of how their day went …

Today was really fun because we did a lot of singing and listened to other people singing in small groups and some people were doing solos too. My favourite thing about today was singing the song ‘Pompei’.   Cooper, 6C

I really enjoyed today – it was even more fun than last time. We added choreography and they entertained us with jokes which made me laugh. I liked the feeling of getting up and dancing.   Maya, 5U
