Book Week

Book Week is one of the most decorated events in the school calendar! It's a wonderful celebration of Australian children's literature and we will soon have all the short listed books ready for borrowing through our school library.
The theme for this year's Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA) Book Week is 'Dreaming with Eyes Open'. A wonderful theme that gives us a lot of scope to reflect on our indigenous culture and the beauty of diving into a wonderful book no matter how old you are!
The beautiful artwork for this year's Book Week was created by Jasmine Seymour, a Darug woman and a descendant of Maria Lock, daughter of Yarramundi, the Boorooberongal elder who met Governor Phillip on the banks of the Hawkesbury (Dyarubbin) in 1791.
One of the main events of Book Week is our Dress Up Day and Parade, which will be held on Thursday 25 August (note change of date - not Monday). Come dressed as your favourite character from any book or be inspired by the Book Week theme. A parade will be held at 10am in the gymnasium in the Stadium; parents/guardians welcome.
The CBCA Book of the Year and winners of each category were announced TODAY via the CBCA website. Click the buttons below to see the winners and short listed books in all categories:
Please note that due to ongoing staff absences, the Book Fair has, unfortunately, been cancelled.
