Senior School Information Evening & Course Counselling

We are focused on Pathways and Senior School Course and Subject selections this term. A number of significant programs and events are happening in Senior School, it is a very busy term. We were very excited to be able to host our Senior School Information Evenings in person again and wish to thank all our parents and students and staff who attended. Parents and students from Year 9 who will be transitioning to Year 10 were invited to hear a presentation about what they can expect in Senior School and our current Year 10 students and their families had a presentation about the range of subjects and courses offered at the school in Year 11 and 12. This included information about the new Senior Secondary Certificate and the integrated courses that students can choose from. The evening also included an opportunity to have a personal discussion with Senior School teachers and visit the ‘Expo Display’ area to research the wide range of subjects offered at Year 10, 11 and 12 and learn about the exciting course and career pathways that the subjects can lead to.

Senior School Information Evening is the commencement of our course counselling program. All students and their parents in Years 9, 10 and 11 have a one to one interview with a member of staff who is trained to assist with senior subject and course pathway selections. We strongly encourage all of our parents to be involved in this valuable process.

Meanwhile our Year 12 students are having very important one to one career interviews to help them select their preferred courses and Universities through the application process with  VTAC (Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre). VTAC is the central office that administers the application processes for places in tertiary courses, scholarships and the Special Entry Access Scheme at Universities, TAFEs and independent tertiary colleges in Victoria. Our Year 12 students are heading towards the remaining weeks of their final year at secondary school and they will be supported through this process by our very capable staff. These are very exciting times!
