From the Principal

What a week we have coming up at Langy Park Primary School. Next week we will be celebrating in style National Book Week. It all starts on Monday with our Book Character Parade. Please have a look at our Book Week overview that is contained in this newsletter.

Staffing News

Mrs Nicole Byrne (325 classroom teacher) is finishing up with us today. She will be pursuing a different career pathway and on behalf of the Langwarrin Park Primary community, I wish her every success. Nicole impacted considerably in her time with us, particularly in the Foundation year level. Nicole's replacement will be Mrs Bec Gilchrist. We look forward to welcoming her on Monday 29th August.

Staffing and finding replacement teachers continues to be a major issue. We need kindness and understanding when teachers are absent. The PCO team are totally focused on ensuring there is the least amount of disruption to classroom programs, however based on the current staffing landscape, it is sometimes not possible to find replacement teachers. As I shared in our previous newsletter, our teachers and school staff are our most valuable resource and we need to look after them; as they do with your kids.

Grade 4 Camp

We wish our Grade 4 team all the best as they head off on their City Camp next week. They will be visiting all the major Melbourne landmarks.

Term 3 Student Free Professional Practice Day

On Friday 9th September, we have a student free professional practice day. This is a day provided by DET which allows teachers to undertake different work related tasks.

I look forward to the week ahead and seeing many smiling faces around the school.
