Fed Uni Visit

Y12 PE

On Friday, 22 July the Yr12 Phys Ed group visited Ballarat’s Federation University. The Sport Science division of the Uni is new and updated with state-of-the-art equipment for Sports Testing, Rehabilitation, Training and Learning. We heard from elite sportsmen and their post-secondary education journey as well as lectures to enhance our understanding of Unit 3&4 course content.

Students participated in practical activity to demonstrate Fitness Components and how to train for optimal improvement. Ella Tyson tested her Power in the Bench Press while Jai Absolom tested his Strength.

Bailey Kershaw (pictured) was then tested for his VO2 max on specialised equipment. 

Students rated the excursion as highly beneficial to their Phys Ed course, as well as an interesting look into a University campus and what life might look like for them in the coming years.
