UPCOMING EVENTS
REBEL SHIELD
The Rebel Shield is the premier competition for rugby union in Victorian government schools. As a Rugby Victoria affiliated rugby academy, Melton Secondary College has been invited to participate in this exclusive event against the three other rugby academies. This five week round robin tournament provides our students with an opportunity to showcase their skills against the top athletes in the state under the watchful eye of Rugby VIC
The Rebel Shield runs every Wednesday from 3rd August to 31st August. To minimise the impact of students missing classes, Rugby Victoria have scheduled the games afterschool with the girl’s games starting at 3:10pm and the boy’s beginning at 4:10pm. Students will be departing school at 1:30pm (prior to pd 4) and returning at approx. 6:30pm.
Academic support sessions are provided to students each Thursday afternoon in the TTC. Please contact myself or Matt McMullen if you have any questions.

RESULTS & ACHIEVEMENTS
RUGBY 7's STATE FINAL
Wednesday 20th July
A mixed day of results for our four teams (U14 B & G, U16 B & G) at the Rugby Vic 7’s State Final. All of our teams were competitive and showed tremendous improvement from our Western qualifiers last term.
Our U16 girls played out the final but unfortunately fell short in extra time. The U14 girls team, with some girls playing their second round of rugby, were super competitive and impressed many observers.
Unfortunately, our boys teams forfeited their first games but showed they are up to it with their skills and teamwork.
The focus now turns to the Rugby Victoria Rebel Shield
