Year 11 IB Core Days

The Year 11 Core Days will take place on the following days. All Year 11 IB students will be out for the entire day. Students have been spoken to about these days and information will be sent out to families tomorrow. An overview of each day is below:

 

CAS Day: Thursday, August 11 - From Gumnuts to Buttons: a walk-through Tasmanian history from an Aboriginal perspective

EE Day: Tuesday, August 16 - The Extended Essay in focus

TOK Day: Wednesday, August 17 - TMAG: Knowledge and Indigenous Societies

Year 12 IB Mock Examinations

The Year 12 IB examinations will be commencing on Monday, August 8 and running through until Tuesday, August 16. Information, including the examination timetable, has already been shared with students and families. 

 

Wednesday, August 17 is the Chemistry IA Day. There will be no Year 12 IB scheduled classes on this day. It will also be the day in which catch-up examinations will run. 

 

Students are reminded that if they are unwell during examinations, it will be necessary to present a medical certificate (a pharmacy or telehealth medical certificate are adequate). If they have a positive RAT test, they are required to register this with Public Health as well as completing the School’s eform

How to help your teen make good decisions about school and life

Good decision-making skills can help your teen make good choices and set them up for success later in life. Teens can face many challenges at school that require them to make choices, such as the transition to High School, selecting subjects, bullying, friendships, and exam stress. TCE August Exams

TCE August Exams run from Monday next week (8th August) until Tuesday 16 August (inclusive). Students were given a copy of our information booklet last term, containing lots of relevant information, including the exam timetable. It is important that students familiarise themselves with this document and ensure they are on time for their exams. Students only need to come to school when they have an exam during this period but are welcome to come in and study in the library or Undercroft if they would like. Formal school uniform is not required during the exam period.

Monash University Information Evenings

Representatives from Monash University will be visiting Hobart on the evening of Wednesday 10 August. Details regarding registration have been sent to students.
