Building connection with your child

Helping children feel seen and valued is crucial to building a strong and positive emotional connection with them.  This connection helps make them feel safe and fosters healthy brain development.

Sometimes children struggle to find the words to use to explain how they are feeling, so encouraging different ways to express thoughts, feelings, and emotions can be valuable for children to be seen, heard, and understood.

Children don’t always want or need you to fix issues, often they just want someone to listen and actually hear what they are saying, without judgement.

Try these ideas below to get the conversation going…you might just be surprised with the information you receive!
