PSSA Cross Country Championships

Flynn McFarlane travelled to Sydney to represent Polding at the PSSA Cross Country Championships on Friday the 22nd of July.  Flynn placed 30th in the 8/9 years boy age group and did so well. Great work Flynn! 

Diocesan Athletics

The Diocesan Athletics Carnival will be held on Friday 12th August 2022, at the Tamworth Regional Athletics Centre located off Jack Smyth Drive, Tamworth. The Carnival will be starting at 8.00 a.m. sharp (gates open from 8.00am). The carnival will conclude at 3:00pm.  If you are taking children once they have competed in their events, please see your teacher prior to leaving.All students need to be in full school sports uniform. Skins are allowed to be worn when running, however school uniforms must be worn on top. Students have been disqualified in previous years for incorrect uniform. Students will also need to bring recess and lunch, plenty of water, sunscreen and a hat. Alternatively, full canteen facilities will be available to purchase lunch. Please note that there is no EFTPOS available, cash only. Good luck to all athletes!

Permission to attend the diocesan athletics carnival is due by Friday the 29th of July 2022, including the $8.00 levy for students to compete. This can be paid online through the compass app, in cash or via eftpos at the front office. 

Athletics Training

In preparation for Diocesan Athletics Carnival in Tamworth on the 12th of August, Jon Welsh has kindly offered to help train and prepare our students. Over the next four weeks Jon will come into school on a Thursday afternoon from 2:30-3:10pm to coach students in track and field.  He will also offer an after school session on Tuesday from 3:15- 4pm at the Guyra sports ground (cricket and soccer oval). Parents will be responsible for their children and will need to organise transportation to and from the oval and supervision.  Please ensure your child has packed their running shoes on these days if they choose to participate in these sessions.  This is a fantastic opportunity for our students and we thank Jon for his enthusiasm and time.
