Show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow.

Psalms 25:4

Heavenly Father, show our children the right path this term.

May they not be influenced by the unwise, but seek Your purposes in all things.

Guide their choices.

Show us the right path as a school community so that we would place our time and energy on the things you want us to invest in.

Please watch over our children and staff, keep them healthy and if illness does strike, allow them to heal and recover quickly.

Give our parents, educators and students the energy to rise to any challenge they experience and to celebrate their successes.

We ask this in Your name.

Welcome back to Term 3!

It has been brilliant to see all of our students so eager to get back to school, whether to see their friends or get back into the academic rigour of their classroom, they are bouncing beans.

The continuation of our cold weather has been seeing illness in some of our children, with runny noses, fatigue and temperatures. We respectfully remind parent/carers, that if their child is demonstrating any cold and flu symptoms they should be kept at home.  With Covid and Influenza case numbers on the rise, it is the responsibility of everyone to ensure the health and safety of others.

Encouraging students to bring jumpers, coats, extra socks, thermals and beanies for this cold weather is one way of combating illnesses.

A reminder that all students in still required to be in full winter uniform for this term.  This includes wearing their green tie, please teach your child to unknot their tie and retie it for each new school day, the number of ties looking worse for wear or absent from uniform is disheartening and very disappointing.

The Parents and Friends has a wide range of second hand clothing, if you would like to make an appointment with the lovely Amber at the front office to  have a look through our clothing pool please do so.  If your family is experiencing financial hardship and in turn having trouble meeting the uniform requirements of our school, please contact us as soon as possible.

NAPLAN 2022:

We received our initial NAPLAN scores for Year 3 and Year 5 students last week and have been very pleased with the results, a testament to the hard work put in my parents, educators and students over the past two years in the classroom and through last years lockdowns.   Towards the end of Term 3, the individual student reports (ISR) and additional student reports (ASR) will be dispatched to schools for us to distribute to parents. These reports contain more detailed information that will provide you as parent and carers the best understanding of their child’s achievement in NAPLAN.

We are looking forward to these arriving with baited breath to see if the work completed by the Catholic Schools Office with Big Write and Cold Writes over the past 18 months translates into student achievement in writing (yet to be marked by NAPLAN).

Transition 2023:

This week I have been conducting Transition appointments for our 2023 students,  although time consuming, I love these meetings.  Catching up with the next pool of parents and students certainly puts education in perspective for me.

These remind me of why we are here and the importance of an inclusive, community minded school, focused on instilling a love of learning and service to others.  I pray that all of our students (present and future) build these foundations at our school and carry this love and drive to help others for the rest of their lives. I am looking forward to meeting more new families as our enrolment process continues.

Thalgarrah Environmental Camp:

The Year 3/4 students are getting more and more excited about their camp next week!! Fingers crossed Covid and Influenza case numbers stay low, allowing them to gain this important step towards independence and learning!

I have set them a challenge..bring a toy or teddy, take a photo and create a "Where's Wally" of all of their toys at camp.  My thanks to Krystle Cox and Jenna Campbell for their organisation of this fantastic experience.

Congratulations and Good Luck:

Congratulations to Flynn M for his brilliant efforts at State Cross Country, we are all so very proud of you.  As a school we are looking forward to seeing how our Diocesan Athletics students go next month, we will keep you posted.

Blessings Zoe
