Cadets

Sarah Byron

The first week of the holidays ten brave cadets and LT Toffolon headed to Puckpunyal to attend the Specialist Courses. Cadets were involved in different courses including Survival, First Aid, Field Engineering and Field Signals. The weather, although very cold, remained for the most part dry so we were lucky.

Reports from our cadets:

Field Signals

The Puckupunyal courses camp was lots of fun. Thought the weather was cold at night once it was day was when all out lessons started. We did activities such as flying drones, communicating to each other through radios, and navigating through the bush with our maps.  I personally thought that this was one of the best camps I’ve gone to for cadets.

First Aid

First aid was really fun. I met a lot of new people and people from other courses. My favourite part of the camp was doing the physical work such as the cam and con in the bush. The only down side was that it was so cold and we were in hootchies.
