Interschool Sport

Interschool Sport is back in full action once again with eager participants representing the school in our SSV competition. It has been great to hear stories and witness teams having lots of fun, demonstrating skill and showing positive sportsmanship representing the BHHS colours. We have also celebrated success in both the Intermediate Boys and Senior Girls Volleyball teams progressing through to the Eastern Metropolitan Regional event.

I encourage students to continue getting involved with our sporting program by keeping an eye out on the Interschool Sport Teams channel for future sign up forms – Term 2 is jam-packed with more great sport options!

Swimming Carnival

BHHS celebrated our 2022 House Swimming Sports at the Boroondara Sport Complex in week 7. It was a fantastic day out full of success, House spirit and active participation by all of our students and staff! It was also great to see the creative costumes and new House Names on display. We saw an extremely tight race for the Swimming House Cup this year, with points also being awarded every time students got into the pool and participated! At the end of the day, it was our Blue House Chang that got the win. The following points were the final standing for the day:

1st - Chang, 340 points

2nd - Irwin, 327 points

3rd - Freeman, 236 points

4th - Blackburn, 207 points

Congratulations Chang House on your fantastic effort! The trophy cabinet outside the library will represent your house colours for the remainder of the year celebrating your efforts. Thank you to everyone for making it such a fantastic day out.

Division Swimming Carnival

Our 2022 BHHS Swimming Team represented the school at Aquarena for the Division Swim Carnival. Our team was smaller than usual this year, as Division fell after the House Swimming Carnival, yet we didn’t lack the talent or success! Within our team, we had four students crowned Age Champions. Congratulations to Daniel Crichton (15yo Male), Alyssa Rodopoulos (17yo Female), Blake Crichton (17yo Male) and Aiden Wong (20yo Male). We then celebrated further success at the Eastern Metropolitan Region Swimming event, with Blake Crichton even setting a new 50m Butterfly record on the day! Congratulations to Blake, as well as Alyssa, Daniel and India Bretel who all competed on the day.
