Music News at HCC

Music at HCC

This past week has seen music classes commence across the school from Prep to Year 12, with many happy sounds coming from the music rooms. We are looking forward to music at the College this year.

This year we welcome some new members to our staff music team. John Oppy has commenced as a secondary music teacher. We also welcome Jason Rolfe as a VCE music teacher. He has been teaching brass and bands previously at HCC. Jeremy John, our percussion teacher, is now also the private music lesson coordinator. In the primary school, music class lessons will be taken by Jenny Fairweather and Abigail Awad.

Our instrumental staff are all continuing this year and include Jeff Heath (contemporary piano), Jeannie Kwan (classical piano), Michelle Scott (voice), Michelle Cleland (saxophone, flute, clarinet), Jason Rolfe (brass), Jeremy John (drums), and Michael Klemke (guitar).

Instrumental Music Lessons Enrolments for 2022

Private music lessons are returning this week and the instrumental staff are all excited to begin teaching students again.

Learning a musical instrument brings many benefits and joys. This year promises to be an exciting year for learning music at HCC with the potential for concerts and performing opportunities throughout the year.

Whether you would like to enroll for the first time or continue with lessons, please read the attached information booklet, and fill out the attached enrolment form. The form can be given to the College office or emailed to music.admin@hcc.vic.edu.au.

We are looking forward to a great year of music at our College.
