From the Executive Principal's Desk

Dear Parents/Guardians

Welcome to a new year at Heatherton Christian College. I have a sense that 2022 is the beginning of a new and exciting season for our community and I am excited to be part of this as Executive Principal over both our campuses. We are very much one College with two campuses, here in Clarinda and Wyndham Vale.

At the start of the year, I launched our spiritual theme for the year – CONNECTED.

This theme is based around a number of bible verses found in Paul’s letter to the Ephesians. In chapter 2 verse 22, Paul writes, “And in Him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit”. The key phrase that really spoke to me in this passage is the idea of being “built together” and this is where the theme of CONNECTED emerged as I prayed and considered what our focus should be for the year.

God is ultimately about relationships and so too is Christian community. I sense, as we commence this new year together, that God is calling us to become more closely connected, to God, to each other and also that our two campuses on either side of the city to follow this pattern too and form ever-increasing connections between the communities despite their geographical separation.

My prayer as we look ahead to this new year is that we will see lives changed for the better as our students learn more about our world and what it means to be a citizen of God’s kingdom. That our students will continue to find purpose in their lives and be empowered to make a difference in our world.
